I was so honored when Carrie asked me to sew with her new collection, PAINT (by SUCH Designs). not only did I get to sew with some really great fabrics, but I got to sew two of my very own patterns for Carrie herself. it does not get any better than that!!

here’s a view of the full PAINT collection. I can see so many amazing things made with these prints.

The PAINT collection celebrates creativity and expression. As a creativity enabler, Carrie intends to help you Celebrate your inner artist™! The collection includes bold, playful prints inspired by a painter’s tools. Color wheels, paint swatches, paint brushes and other collaged images create an artful pastiche of sewing possibility. Carrie loves to make something from nothing. She showcases up-cycling and recycling by creating her imagery from brown paper bags, paint swatches and colorful newsprint. PAINT tells the truly inspiring story of stepping into a creative life. Additionally, we are pleased to rerelease her wildly popular Newsprint in three color ways.

I am a sewist, mom, wife, designer, blogger, and fabric enthusiast. I learned to sew alongside my mom, but lost interest in the craft until my early twenties, and I've spent the last fifteen years making up for lost time! I've experimented with modern quilting, accessories and garment sewing, hand-printed fabric, and textile design, I have found my love in pattern design, and sell my original sewing and embroidery patterns in the imagine gnats shop.

The fabric is gorgeous in the top and I love your new skirt! How does one become a pattern tester?

These are gorgeous prints. I already bought lots of the Collage collection when it came out and this has the same lovely earthy but graphic feel. I can imagine myself wafting around all summer in the paint palette fabric.

As for the Alder skirt … wow, just love it! Can’t wait til the pattern comes out as it has everything I love … cute pockets, a little waistband for definition and a figure friendly silhouette!
